This initiative is designed to alleviate the financial burden caused by rising fuel costs while promoting the adoption of cleaner energy sources for transportation.
The federal government has invested a substantial $75 million in this initiative, reflecting its commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
Hathiramani also commended the Lagos state government for its efforts, noting that beyond offering a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, Lagos is making heavy investments in CNG.
The state is building a comprehensive ecosystem that includes exploration, production, storage, and retailing, thereby fostering key partnerships like that of Dana Motors.
This, he believes, is a pivotal step towards achieving a sustainable energy future for Nigeria.
“At Dana Motors, we are committed to leading the charge towards a greener tomorrow,” Hathiramani said.
The company is actively involved in local assembly of Kia hybrid and CNG vehicles, underscoring its role in shaping the future of both the automotive and energy sectors in Nigeria.
Dana Motors’ recent partnership with Portland Gas further strengthens its commitment to promoting cleaner energy in the country.
He also urged the massive adoption of CNG, emphasising its cost-effectiveness for individuals, businesses, and households, while reducing Nigeria’s reliance on traditional fuels.
Hathiramani noted that CNG not only offers significant savings, but also has the potential to stimulate the nation’s economy by diversifying energy sources and promoting environmental sustainability.
