The Tin-Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has said it intercepted a cache of arms and ammunition being smuggled into Nigeria by some criminal elements.
Some items intercepted are military camouflage and some illicit drugs such as Colorado.
The arms recovered include automatic single-barrel rifles and pump action guns.
As of press time, details of the interception are still sketchy, however, the arms were reportedly recovered during an inspection of consignments imported into the country.
This interception is coming amid the deteriorating state of the country’s security that has affected economic activities across the nation.
