The Commissioner highlighted factors contributing to the high cost of food items, including poor infrastructure, power shortages, inadequate storage facilities, and multiple illegal tax payments by farmers.

Olusanya assured them that the state government will give financial support and help with experts engagement to address the challenges.

She called on members to inspire young Nigerians to value the agriculture sector for sustainable development.

Victor Afolabi, CEO of Eko Innovation Centre, addressed the food crisis, citing global examples where young minds successfully overcame similar challenges.

Afolabi urged participants to identify opportunities in agriculture, close gaps in supply value chains, and adopt technology to transform Nigeria’s economy.

Legal and Financial expert, Mr Omoruyi Edoigiawerie, advised startups to start small, acquire knowledge and skills, and seek expert advice on legal matters.
