Nigeria’s final AFCON qualifier against Rwanda is set for November 18 in Uyo, with Moroccan officials overseeing the match at Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed November 18 as the date for Nigeria’s final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Rwanda.
The game, pivotal in concluding Nigeria’s Group D campaign, will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, kicking off at 5 p.m.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced this arrangement on Tuesday, adding that CAF has appointed a Moroccan team of officials to oversee the match.
Samir Guezzaz will serve as the referee, with Zakaria Brinsi and Abdessamad Abertoune assisting on the sidelines as assistant referees, while Kech Chaf Mustapha will act as the fourth official.
The match commissioner, Prosper Harrison Addo from Ghana, will ensure procedural oversight, and Somalian Ali Mohamed Ahmed has been designated as the referee assessor.
Following this fixture, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will have their eyes set on the AFCON finals, which will take place in Morocco in December 2025 and January 2026.
CAF has also detailed arrangements for Nigeria’s preceding qualifier, a Matchday 5 encounter against Benin Republic on November 14.
Taking place at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Côte d’Ivoire at 8 p.m. Nigerian time, the match will be officiated by Senegalese referee Issa Sy. Djibril Camara and Nouha Bangoura will serve as assistant referees, with El Hadji Amadou Sy in the role of fourth official.
Ivorian Rene Williams Sere will function as the match commissioner, and Angola’s Inacio Manuel Candido will assess the officiating.
These upcoming matches represent Nigeria’s final push towards securing a place in the 35th edition of the AFCON, a tournament where the Super Eagles aim to claim continental glory once again.
