BREAKING: Chelsea to announce Mauricio Pochettino as permanent manager

Chelsea are set to announce Mauricio Pochettino as their new permanent manager after signing three years contract.

According to football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain head coach will commence next week.

“Mauricio Pochettino has finally signed the contract as new Chelsea head coach after verbal agreement reached 2 weeks ago. 🚨🔵✍🏻 #CFC,” Fabrizio tweeted.

“Official statement ready, he’s starting his job as Chelsea manager next week. Contract will be valid until June 2026. Here we go confirmed.”

The club is expected to release an official statement possibly within 48 hours after Chelsea’s last game of the season against Newcastle today as Lampard, and a number of players, prepare to bid farewellto the club.

It is likely that players like Mason Mount, Edouard Mendy, Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and others may bid farewell after the match.

Pochettino’s first tasks will be to reduce the squad, which has bloated to 32 players after the world record spend of £600million across the last two transfer windows.
