BREAKING: Aircraft crashes into building in Lagos, two rescued

According to reports, a single engine aircraft has crashed in the Oba Akran area in Ikeja, Lagos State.

The incident happened adjacent AP Filling Station, and United Bank For Africa, Oba Akran, and as at the time of filing this report, two individuals have been rescued from the crash.

The Spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Tunji Oketunbi, confirmed the development on Tuesday afternoon.

An official of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said that the aircraft burst into flames when the incident happened.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said two persons were onboard the ill-fated aircraft.

Ibrahim Farinloye, NEMA Zonal Coordinator for South-West, on the Agency’s official WhatsApp platform, said although the identity of the operator of the vehicle was yet unknown, both men were rescued alive.

First responders from NEMA, LASEMA and investigators from the NSIB are on the scene.
