Barcelona have reportedly ‘censored’ their social media activity after one of their youth prospects celebrated with Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic ‘siuuuuu’.

Youngster Fermin Lopez netted a brilliant bicycle kick in Juvenil A’s 3-0 victory against Cornella during the weekend.

The 18-year-old jumped in the air before performing the Manchester United striker’s celebration – a move that has irked Barcelona’s social media team. The celebration had been displayed on the live broadcast of the match, but Marca has reported that the part where he celebrated has been cut out on further shares of the goal on Barca’s Instagram accounts.

The reaction is not surprising to see as Ronaldo has racked up an incredible record against the Camp Nou outfit. The five-time Balon d’Or winner has scored 20 goals in all competitions against Barcelona.

According to Ronaldo, the famous ‘siu’ celebration had first been used during a pre-season clash with Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Speaking in 2019, he said: “Well, I was in the US and we played against Chelsea and I don’t know where it came from. I just scored and I went, ‘sii!’ But it was natural, to be honest.

“After that, I started doing it and I feel like the fans, when they see me they’re like ‘sii’ and I was like, ‘wow, people remember Cristiano because of the sii,’ so I continued like that.”

Throughout the 37-year-old’s ten-year-old stint in RealMadrid, the Catalan club were on the receiving end of his celebration.
